New Friends?

Hello to all my new friends... for those of you who are new to Barefoot Books, let me tell you how great this company is!  The books are unique... cultural, musical...brightly colored and FUN!  Many of them have CD's and videos that go along with them.  Every culture you could imagine is represented, which is very cool!  The music, puzzles, and games are also representative of the world and the puppets are adorable.  I hope you will check it out and drop me some comments.  If you are in the Chicago area, I have plenty of items available for "cash & carry..."  I am also looking for new team members, so if you are looking for something different, give this a try!

I'm baaaaaaack!!

I'm back, and just in time to celebrate a busy month!  February is Black History month, also the month of Valentine's Day, the beginning of Lent... lets see what books we have to look at in honor of the 2nd month of the year....

First and foremost, I recommend "African Tales," an anthology of African stories for children.

African Tales
A Barefoot Collection

Explore this colorful continent and uncover the rich ways of life of the many peoples who live there. The eight stories in this collection, each from a different African country, feature educational facts and information about the cultures from which they are chosen. The stories are retold by award-winning Xhosa storyteller Gcina Mphlope, from Durban, South Africa. Includes a full-color map.

10% of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Books for Africa, an organization that collects, ships and distributes books to children across the African continent.

Now, on to Valentine's Day.  My favorite pick for the day of love is a sweet little book of poems called "Someone I Like."

Connect with the intimate and absorbing poetry in this collection of verse about the people in our lives. The full range of human emotions is explored in selections from poets from many different cultures.

Lastly, let us count our blessings as we prepare for Lent.  The "Barefoot Book of Blessings" is a great source of prayers for your family.
