New Friends?

Hello to all my new friends... for those of you who are new to Barefoot Books, let me tell you how great this company is!  The books are unique... cultural, musical...brightly colored and FUN!  Many of them have CD's and videos that go along with them.  Every culture you could imagine is represented, which is very cool!  The music, puzzles, and games are also representative of the world and the puppets are adorable.  I hope you will check it out and drop me some comments.  If you are in the Chicago area, I have plenty of items available for "cash & carry..."  I am also looking for new team members, so if you are looking for something different, give this a try!

I'm baaaaaaack!!

I'm back, and just in time to celebrate a busy month!  February is Black History month, also the month of Valentine's Day, the beginning of Lent... lets see what books we have to look at in honor of the 2nd month of the year....

First and foremost, I recommend "African Tales," an anthology of African stories for children.

African Tales
A Barefoot Collection

Explore this colorful continent and uncover the rich ways of life of the many peoples who live there. The eight stories in this collection, each from a different African country, feature educational facts and information about the cultures from which they are chosen. The stories are retold by award-winning Xhosa storyteller Gcina Mphlope, from Durban, South Africa. Includes a full-color map.

10% of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Books for Africa, an organization that collects, ships and distributes books to children across the African continent.

Ages 8 and up
Written By: Gcina Mhlophe
Illustrated By: Rachel Griffin
Hardcover ($19.99)

Now, on to Valentine's Day.  My favorite pick for the day of love is a sweet little book of poems called "Someone I Like."

Someone I Like
Poems About People

Connect with the intimate and absorbing poetry in this collection of verse about the people in our lives. The full range of human emotions is explored in selections from poets from many different cultures.
Ages 5 and up
Compiled By: Judith Nicholls
Illustrated By: Giovanni Manna
Hardcover ($17.99)

Lastly, let us count our blessings as we prepare for Lent.  The "Barefoot Book of Blessings" is a great source of prayers for your family.

The Barefoot Book of Blessings
from Many Faiths and Cultures

Cultivate a reverence for life's gifts and the varied ways of receiving them. This elegant collection of prayers and blessings is selected from a wide range of countries, cultures and world religions.

I Heart Finger Puppets!

I think that, other than books, finger puppets are my new favorite item.  They are so little and cute... and not very expensive, which makes them a great little stocking stuffer!  We have just about every animal you can imagine AND a prince and princess... but my all-time favorite is still the tooth fairy (complete with a pocket for the lost tooth to go in!)  What's your favorite?  Check out the link to view them all... I'm anxious to see what's the favorite overall...

Join my team!!!

When I lost my teaching job at the end of the 2009-2010 school year, needless to say I was devastated.  I have probably sent out 300 resumes in the last year, but in the meantime I needed to do something to keep sane and make a little cash.  (Thank GOD for Unemployment Insurance!)  So, I started to google direct sales opportunities. I wanted to find something different.... I know a lot of people selling purses, jewelry, kitchen items, etc.  I wanted to find something nobody else around here was selling, and preferably something that would keep me somewhat in the arena of education.  That's how I found Barefoot Books.  I fell in love immediately!  No start-up costs (you spend as much or as little as you want on merchandise, catalogs, etc.).  No monthly minimums to stay active.  Awesome products.  It seemed to good to be true.

Barefoot has been the best thing for me this past year, and it is still not a very saturated market.  I have had 3 wonderful women join my team in the last few months, ranging from Ohio to California.  I want my team to grow so that more work-at-home book lovers can have as much fun as I have!  If you want more info, click the link below or reply with a comment and I will answer any questions you have.
